International study visit

International study visit

AI Leap International Study Visit is an event designed to introduce ministry representatives and education leaders from across Europe and beyond to Estonia’s pioneering AI Leap program in general education.

Short study visit (one-day event) will take place before Tallinn Digital Summit on
🗓️ November 4, 2026 in Tallinn.

Next study visits (two-day events) will take place on
🗓️ December 3–4, 2026 in Tallinn.
🗓️ April 22–23, 2027 in Tallinn.

Gathering for education leaders responsible for AI in general education

The visit brings together policy-level insights and practical experiences. Over the two days, participants will explore Estonia’s national vision for integrating AI into education, its partnership and governance model, and how these ideas are implemented in real school settings.

Program

Rather than a series of short meetings, this two-day format allows for deeper understanding, meaningful exchange, and direct observation of how innovation is applied in practice.

  • School visits and hands-on sessions showcasing how AI tools are used in classrooms.
  • Parallel thematic tracks for different stakeholders (e.g. teachers, students, researchers).
  • Reflection and group discussions
  • Sharing insights and shaping future cooperation.
  • Strategic discussions and policy dialogue on AI in education.
  • Focused sessions on ethics, data protection, and learning design

Feedback

Read feedback from participants of our May 2026 study visit:

"Many of the sessions were valuable, but the most useful insights came from the data, the results so far, and the open discussion of challenges and approaches that did not work as planned."

"Thank you for being so open and honest about the whole journey of building this project. It is really refreshing approach to “build a plane while flying it” in a cautious enthusiastic manner! Your pragmatic mindset, the spirit of failing forward with trial & errors is inspiring—results may not always be desirable, but the journey is so valuable that could also be the purpose itself. Thank you for these intensive yet fruitful two days!"
