AI Leap
For Whom and When?
2025
A foundation will be established this spring, co-founded by the state and private sector, to strategically oversee AI’s integration into education. In March 2025, the more specific goals of the foundation, the composition of founders, and funding will be agreed upon.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research, teacher training will take place by autumn 2025, followed by providing students access to world-leading AI-developed educational applications. Negotiations have begun with world-leading AI-based learning software creators OpenAI and Anthropic, and there are plans to involve other interested parties as well.
During the project's first phase, 20,000 high school students in grades 10-11 and their 3,000 teachers will receive access to world-leading AI-based educational applications on September 1, 2025.
2026
From autumn 2026, a new 10th grade (10,000 new high school students) will join the second phase of the project, gaining access to AI learning software.
In autumn 2026, 28,000 vocational education students and their 2,000 teachers will also join.
2027
In spring 2027, the first students who completed the AI Leap programme will graduate. The initiative will have directly impacted approximately 58,000 students and 5,000 teachers.
