AI Leap unites Estonia’s entire education ecosystem. Public and private sector collaboration is critical for the success of Estonia’s next major breakthrough.

It is no coincidence that AI Leap has become a reference point for the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence. The program builds on Estonia’s e-state strengths, developed through sustained cooperation between the public and private sectors: a trusted digital environment, evidence-based policymaking, and a supportive technology community.

Driving lasting change

AI Leap’s funding is based on a clear partnership model. The state contributes 50%, and the remaining 50% comes from the private sector—ensuring both long-term stability and the pace needed for innovation.

In this way, Estonia is developing something that is drawing increasing attention across Europe and globally: an education ecosystem for the age of artificial intelligence that is state-led and openly developed in cooperation with entrepreneurs and researchers.

With private sector support, we develop and validate solutions. The Ministry of Education and Research integrates these into national programs and curricula.
